Rossana, Inês Barroso's on-stage persona, has become synonymous with innovative approaches to music since the project began, 6 years ago. Without ever sticking to convention, the Portuguese composer based in London has long since moved away from her classical piano training, exploring genres ranging from jazz to psy-rock, including Latin, Portuguese folk or even electronic music. However, no matter how far she goes in her sonic forays, she always manages to bring together all these influences in a sound that can only be described as hers.
An experienced performer, Rossana has taken her music across Portugal, England, France, and the Benelux region, appearing at major festivals such as NOS Alive (2025). In November 2024 Rossana released her second LP ," À La Portugaise", which marked the beginning of a new chapter for the project . With a sound that reaffirms her heritage, but without ever surrendering to it , the artist intends to speak a universal language capable of captivating listeners from all over the world.
Later in 2026, Rossana will release her new LP, À La Portugaise Allis Ubbo, a live recording of the concert held on May 7 at Lisbon's Club B.Leza. The performance brought together artists based in Portugal with roots in Brazil, Bangladesh, Angola, Ukraine, and Portugal, who reimagined Rossana's songs through arrangements inspired by their own musical traditions.
The album celebrates the cultural diversity that shapes Portugal's contemporary music landscape and the artists who continue to redefine it.
The promise for the near future is to bring her music closer to new international audiences.
